TEHRAN On the night when the play Pinocchio-Faust, directed by Roberto Ciulli from Germany, went on the stage at the main hall of Te'atr-e Shahr (city theater), all prominent figures of stage and screen as well as a large number of theater-lovers were present at the hall. As all the seats in the hall and its balcony were taken, some of the audience sat or stood in corridors and watched the play very carefully.

As a matter of fact, the city theater had never witnessed such a crowd in the past. The play was performed in the German language, and there was a limited number of headphones in the hall which enabled some of the audience to hear the simultaneous translation. However, at the beginning of the play, some leaflets giving a summary of the play in Persian were distributed among the audience.

At the end of the play, the audience, by applauding the cast so enthusiastically, caused them to return onto the stage three times. It is worth noting that it was the first time that a foreign theatrical group participated in the International Fajr Theater Festival.
